Green Energy Handbook – Part four: System structure

To build the system, we recommend the use of a five-level pyramid model. Let’s start from the bottom and then step up.

Connected energy system

We identify energy points by nature, size, and spatial as well as topological location.

We create a technical system that performs energetically, informationally, and financially efficient energy operations.

Automation

We build an automation system that:

  • Controls the operating status of energy points (e.g. heat pump).
  • Controls and regulates the optimal operation of the heating centre.
  • Sets the optimal thermal condition of the facility per zone, per sections, per room.
  • Generates the internal operating data of the system (e.g. changes in temperature). 
Energy monitoring

It is used to obtain relevant, measurable data on the energy consumption of the facility and the energy points within it. In the case of financed energy solutions (for example: ESCO), the goal is to determine the usage and savings values.

Data and database management

It is necessary to manage, store, display, utilize and transmit data and information in many ways.

This requires management of large volume type databases and data sets, i.e. BIG DATA.

Examples of data utilization:

  • 3D spatial information set based on the application and operation of the maxwhere.com information space.
  • Service – servers, i.e. provision of remotely monitored operation.
  • Connection to resource management activity.
  • Provision of data for energy audits.
  • Support for operation according to ISO 50001.
Artificial intelligence, i.e. smart algorithms
  • It collects data from the database and comprehensively analyses the operating status, the environment and the system, as well as the habits of the user.
  • It indicates to the operator the possibilities for further operation optimization.
  • It informs the automation control about further optimization options.
